Born in Allen, Floyd County, Kentucky. Enlisted in the 8th Missouri Cavalry for three years at Springfield, Greene County, Missouri. Mustered in as a Private in Company A at Springfield, Missouri on 6 Aug 1862. From 21 Apr to 2 Jun 1863 assigned to scouting. From May 1864 to Apr 1865 on hospital rolls due to chronic diarrhea at Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas. Received a disability discharge on 2 May 1865, but was not discharged until 12 Jun 1865 at Little Rock, Arkansas. A member of Luther C. Ladd Post No. 17 of Puyallup, Pierce County, Washington. Died in Meadows, Washington County (today Adams County), Idaho.
