Born in Lee Center, Oneida County, New York. Enlisted in the 15th New York Engineers (New) for one year at Annsville, Oneida County, New York. Mustered in as a Private in Company L the same day he enlisted. Promoted to Sergeant on 19 Oct 1864. Mustered out with his Company at Fort Barry, Virginia. Joined Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington by reinstatement on 15 Apr 1911. Served as a Delegate to the 1914 Encampment of the Department of Washington and Alaska. Died at his home in Tacoma, Washington.
