Born in Ohio. Enlisted in the 2nd Ohio Cavalry for three years. Mustered in as a Private in Company H at Camp Wade, Cleveland, Ohio on 8 Oct 1861. Mustered out at the expiration of his term of service at Berryville, Virginia. Became a member of Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington by reinstatement in Nov 1912. Admitted to the Washington State Soldiers Home Colony at Orting, Pierce County, Washington on 5 Jan 1914 and dropped on 18 May 1918. Died at his home in Tacoma, Washington.
