Born in New York. A resident of Courtland, Nicollet County, Minnesota when he enlisted in the 2nd Minnesota Cavalry for three years at Courtland, Minnesota. Appointed Farrier on 1 Jan 1864. Mustered in as a Private in Company G at Fort Snelling, Minnesota on 4 Jan 1864. In Jun 1864 when Company G left Fort Ridgely, Minnesota, Private Price remained at Fort Ridgely. On 9 Jun 1864 a convalescent detachment was organized at Fort Ridgely under the command of Lieutenant Phillips of Company I, 2nd Minnesota Cavalry. Private Price was included in this detachment. Discharged on a Surgeon's certificate of disability at Manannah, Meeker County, Minnesota. A member of Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. Later he joined H. G. Sickles Post No. 57 of Vashon, King County, Washington. On 3 Jul 1891 he filed for his military pension, which was granted (certificate no. 719,946). Died in Enumclaw, King County, Washington
