Born in Pulaski, Williams County, Ohio. A resident of Pleasant Ridge, Rock Island County, Illinois when he enlisted in the 147th Illinois Infantry for one year at Joliet, Illinois. Mustered in as a Private in Company G at Joliet, Illinois on 11 Feb 1865. Mustered out at Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia. A member of John A. Winslow Post No. 87 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. Joined Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Washington by reinstatement on 9 Apr 1910. According to a newspaper article published on 30 May 1929, he was one of the 40 remaining members of Custer Post, which 20 years prior had a membership of more than 300. Died in Northern Pacific Hospital at Tacoma, Washington.
