Admitted to the Washington State Soldiers Home at Orting, Pierce County, Washington on 20 Sep 1913. Shortly after being admitted to the Soldiers Home, he was granted a furlough. It appears he did not return to the Soldiers Home. He died at his home in Tacoma, Washington.
