Born in Richland County, Ohio. Enlisted in the 86th Ohio Infantry for six months. Mustered in as a Private in Company H at Camp Cleveland, Ohio. Mustered out with his Company at Camp Cleveland, Ohio. Joined Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington by reinstatement on 10 Jan 1914. Elected as an Alternate to the 1915 Encampment of the Department of Washington and Alaska. Admitted to the Washington State Soldiers Home at Orting, Pierce County, Washington on 20 Sep 1913. Shortly after being admitted to the Soldiers Home, he was granted a furlough. It appears he did not return to the Soldiers Home. He died at his home in Tacoma, Washington.
