Born in Carbon County, Pennsylvania. Enlisted in the 1st Nebraska Territory Cavalry for one year at Little Blue, Nebraska Territory. On 29 Dec 1864 assigned to Company F. On 15 Jun 1865 on escort duty to Fort Laramie, Dakota Territory (today Wyoming). Mustered in on 6 Jul 1865 at Fort Kearney, Nebraska Territory as no mustering officer was available until then. On 12 Sep 1865 serving as a teamster in Quartermaster Department, Cottonwood, Nebraska Territory. Discharged at the expiration of his term of service at Omaha, Nebraska Territory. A member of Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. Elected by the Post as an Alternate to the 1908 Encampment of the Department of Washington and Alaska. Died in Tacoma, Washington.
