Reported to the USS Clara Dolsen, the receiving ship at Cairo, Illinois. Transferred to the USS Tawah, where apparently, he served as an Officer's Steward. Discharged at the expiration of his term of service on 9 Jun 1864. A resident of Shawano, Shawano County, Wisconsin when he enlisted in the 49th Wisconsin Infantry for one year at Green Bay, Brown County, Wisconsin. Mustered in as a Private in Company F the same day he enlisted. Mustered out with his Company at Benton Barracks, Missouri. A member of John A. Winslow Post No. 87 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. Served as Post Commander in 1907 and 1908. On 18 Sep 1909 transferred to Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Washington. Served the Post as Officer of the Day in 1914. He was admitted to the Washington State Soldiers Home at Orting, Pierce County, Washington on 8 Oct 1912. Died in Tacoma, Washington.
