Born in Ireland. A resident of Libertyville, Lake County, Illinois when he enlisted in the 58th Illinois Infantry for three years at Libertyville, Illinois. Mustered in as a Private in Company G at Chicago, Illinois on 31 Dec 1861. Re-enlisted as Veteran Volunteer at Paducah, Kentucky on 1 Jan 1864. Re-mustered at Vicksburg, Mississippi on 2 Jan 1864. Transferred to Company B on 23 Jan 1865. Mustered out at Montgomery, Alabama on 1 Apr 1866. A member of Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. Later transferred to Luther C. Ladd Post No. 17 of Puyallup, Pierce County, Washington. He and his wife were admitted to the Washington State Veterans' Home at Retsil, Kitsap County, Washington on 3 May 1920. Died in Olympia, Thurston County, Washington while on furlough from the Veterans' Home. Some military records spell his last name as "Healy". Pension certificate 401,337.
