Discharged on a Surgeon's certificate of disability at Battle Creek, Tennessee. A member of Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. Later became a member of Orting Post No. 54 of Orting, Pierce County, Washington. Admitted to the Washington State Soldiers Home at Orting, Washington on 4 Apr 1895 and discharged at his own request on 9 Apr 1896. Re-admitted to Soldiers Home on 1 Dec 1900. Admitted to the Washington State Soldiers Home Colony at Orting, Washington on 3 Aug 1908 where he died. According to his death certificate and Soldiers Home file, he was buried on 1 Dec 1912 in the Orting Cemetery. On 4 Jun 1929 the Washington State Soldiers Home ordered a military headstone for their cemetery, which was shipped on 28 Jul 1930. In Dec 2023, both the Orting Cemetery and the Washington State Soldiers Home Cemetery said their records indicate he is buried in their cemetery.
