Promoted to Commissary Sergeant and transferred to Field and Staff (F&S) on 29 Aug 1862. A member of Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. Later joined Sedgwick Post No. 10 of Salem, Marion County, Oregon. Died in Salem, Oregon. His headstone incorrectly indicates he served in Company M, should be Field and Staff (F&S).
