Mustered in as a Musician (Drummer) in Company K at Wilmington, Delaware on 20 May 1861. Mustered out at Wilmington, Delaware. Enlisted in the 7th New Jersey Infantry for three years and mustered in as a Private in Company D on 31 Aug 1861. Discharged for disability at Camp, Lower Potomac, Maryland on 1 Aug 1862. A member of Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. Died in Hillman City (today Seattle), King County, Washington.
