Born in Pennsylvania. A resident of El Paso, McLean County, Illinois when he enlisted in the 145th Illinois Infantry for 100 days at El Paso, Illinois as Emanuel Page. Mustered in as a Private in Company E at Camp Butler, Illinois on 9 Jun 1864. Mustered out at Camp Butler, Illinois. Enlisted in the 5th Independent Battery, New York Light Artillery for one year at Brooklyn, New York on 13 Oct 1864 as Emanuel Page. Mustered in as a Private the same day he enlisted. Mustered out with his battery at Harts Island, New York Harbor, New York on 6 Jul 1865. A member of Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. Elected as an Alternate to the 1908 Encampment of the Department of Washington and Alaska. Admitted to the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers at Sawtelle, Los Angeles County, California on 24 Feb 1914 and discharged at his own request on 6 Apr 1914. Readmitted to the Home on 18 Mar 1915 where he died.
