Born in Canada. A resident of Rockbridge, Richland County, Wisconsin when he enlisted in the 12th Independent Battery, Wisconsin Light Artillery. Transferred to the 107th Company, 2nd Battalion, Veteran Reserve Corps. Mustered out at the expiration of his term of service. A member of Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. Admitted to the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers at Sawtelle, Los Angeles County, California on 20 Jan 1908 where he died. His headstone mistakenly indicates he served in Company H of the 12th Wisconsin Light Artillery. Since the 12th Wisconsin Light Artillery was an independent battery, there were no companies.
