Re-enlisted as a Veteran Volunteer for three years on 25 Dec 1863. Promoted to Corporal in Jul or Aug 1864. Transferred to Company C, 65th New York Infantry on 1 Sep 1864. Promoted to Sergeant on 1 Jul 1865. Mustered out with his Company at Halls Hill, Virginia. A member of Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. On 7 Mar 1893 admitted to the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers at Sawtelle, Los Angeles County, California where he died. Various military records spell his last name as "Launsberry" or "Lounsbury".
