Mustered in as a Private in Company C the same day he enlisted. Discharged for disability. Joined Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington on 28 May 1910. Later joined Lyon Post No. 8 of Oakland, Alameda County, California. Died in Alameda County, California. His headstone mistakenly indicates his middle initial is "H", it should be "A".
