Born in Ohio. Enlisted in the 18th Ohio Infantry for three years. Mustered in as a Private in Company G. Transferred to Company B on 20 Oct 1864. Mustered out with his Company at Augusta, Georgia on 9 Oct 1865. Discharged at Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio. Admitted to the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers at Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin on 10 May 1914 and discharged at his own request on 6 Jan 1915. A member of Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. Died in Tacoma, Washington. He is buried in a G.A.R. section of the cemetery.
